The knowers of the three Vedas, drinking the soma, purified of sin, worshipping Me with sacrifices (yajñaiḥ), pray for the way to heaven. Having reached the pure world of the lord of the gods, they enjoy the divine enjoyments of the gods in heaven.
Men learned in sacred lore, Soma drinkers, their sins absolved, worship me with sacrifices, seeking to win heaven. Reaching the holy world of Indra, king of the gods, they savor the heavenly delights of the gods in the celestial sphere.
(20) Trusting in the three Vedas the Soma-drinkers, purged of [ritual] fault, worship Me with sacrifice, seeking to go to paradise: these win through to the pure world of the lord of the gods and taste in heaven the gods' celestial joys.
9.20 Those who are versed in the Vedas, who are drinkers of Soma and are purified of sin, pray for the heavenly goal by worshipping Me through sacrifices. Having reached the place (world) of the king of gods, which is the result of righteousness, they enjoy in heaven the divine pleasure of gods.
9.20 Those who are versed in the three Vedas, being purified from sin by drinking the Soma juice, pray for the passage to heaven and worship Me by sacrifices. Reaching the holy realm of the chief of the gods, they enjoy in heaven celestial pleasures of the gods.
9.20 The knowers of the three Vedas, the drinkers of Soma, purified of all sins, worshipping Me by sacrifices, pray for the way to heaven; they reach the holy world of the Lord of the gods and enjoy in heaven the divine pleasures of the gods.
