Arjuna said: What is that Brahman, what is the supreme Self (adhyātma), what is action (karma), O Supreme Person (Puruṣottama)? And what is declared to be the domain of beings (adhibhūta), what is called the domain of gods (adhidaiva)?
What is the infinite spirit, Krishna? What is its inner self, its action? What is its inner being called? What is its inner divinity?
Arjuna said: (1) What is That Brahman? What that which appertains to self? [And] what, O best of men, are works? What is that called which appertains to contingent beings? What that which appertains to the divine?
8.1 Arjuna said -- O supreme person, what is that Brahman? What is that which exists in the individual plane? What is action? And what is that which is said to exist in the physical plane? What is that which is said to be existing in the divine plane?
