This is the lower; but other than this, know My higher nature (prakṛti), Which has become the living soul (jīvabhūta), O Great-armed one (Mahābāho), by which this world is sustained.
This is my lower nature; know my higher nature too, the life-force that sustains this universe.
(5) This is the lower: but other than this I have a higher Nature; this too must you know. [And this is Nature developed into life by which this world is kept in being.
7.5 O mighty-armed one, this is the inferior (Prakṛti). Know the other Prakṛti of Mine which, however, is higher than this, which has taken the form of individual souls, and by which this world is upheld.
7.5 This is My lower Prakṛti. But, O mighty-armed One, know that My higher nature is another. It is the life-principle (Jīva-bhūtaṃ), by which this universe is sustained.
7.5 This is the inferior Prakṛti, O mighty-armed (Arjuna); know thou as different from it My higher Prakṛti (Nature), the very life-element, by which this world is upheld.
