But the ignorant and the faithless, and the doubting soul perishes; There is neither this world, nor the next, nor happiness for the doubting soul.
An ignorant man is lost, faithless, and filled with self-doubt; a soul that harbors doubt has no joy, not in this world or the next.
(40) The man, unwise, devoid of faith, of doubting self must perish: this world is not for the man of doubting self, nor the next [world] nor yet happiness.
