But he who knows the truth (tattvavit), O Great-armed one (Mahābāho), of the divisions of qualities (guṇas) and actions (karma), Thinking "The qualities act among the qualities," is not attached.
When he can discriminate the actions of nature's qualities and think, “The qualities depend on other qualities,” he is detached.
(28) But he who knows how constituents and works are parceled out in categories, seeing things as they are, thinks thus: 'Constituents on constituents act', [and thus thinking] remains unattached.
3.28 But, O mighty-armed one, the one who is a knower of the facts about the varieties of the guṇas (qualities) and actions does not become attached, thinking thus: 'The organs rest (act) on the objects of the organs.'
3.28 But he who knows the truth about the division of the Guṇas and works, O mighty-armed one, through his knowledge that 'Guṇas operate on their products,' is not attached.
3.28 But he who knows the Truth, O mighty-armed (Arjuna), about the divisions of the qualities and (their) functions, knowing that the Guṇas as senses move amidst the Guṇas as the sense-objects, is not attached.
