Let him not produce a division of understanding (buddhibheda) in the ignorant who are attached to action (karma). The disciplined wise man should cause them to enjoy all actions, performing them himself.
No wise man disturbs the understanding of ignorant men attached to action; he should inspire them, performing all actions with discipline.
(26) Let not a wise man split the soul of witless men attached to work: let him encourage all [manner of] works, himself though busy, acting as an integrated (yukta) man.
3.26 The enlightened man should not create disturbance in the beliefs of the ignorant, who are attached to work. Working, while himself remaining diligent [Some translate yuktaḥ as, 'in the right manner'. S. takes it in the sense of Yoga-yuktaḥ, merged in yoga.-Tr.], he should make them do [Another reading is yojayet, meaning the same as joṣayet.-Tr.] all the duties.
3.26 He should not bewilder the minds of the ignorant who are attached to work; rather himself performing work with devotion, he should cause others to do so.
3.26 Let no wise man unsettle the mind of ignorant people who are attached to action; he should engage them in all actions, himself fulfilling them with devotion.
