For him there is no purpose here in what is done, nor in what is not done. Nor among all beings is there any dependence for him on any object.
He has no stake here in deeds done or undone, nor does his purpose depend on other creatures.
(18) In works done and works undone on earth he has no interest—no [interest] in all contingent beings: on such interest lie does not depend.
3.18 For him there is no concern here at all with performing action; nor any (concern) with nonperformance. Moreover, for him there is no dependence on any object to serve any purpose.
