तमुवाच हृषीकेशः प्रहसन्निव भारत । सेनयोरुभयोर्मध्ये विषीदन्तमिदं वचः ॥2.10॥
2.10 tam uvāca hṛṣīkeśaḥ prahasann iva bhārata senayor ubhayor madhye viṣīdantam idaṃ vacaḥ

To him the Lord of the senses (Hṛṣīkeśa), As if smiling, O descendant of Bharata (Bhārata), In the middle of both armies, Spoke this word to the despairing one.

(10) [Standing] between the two armies, Kṛṣṇa, faintly smiling, spoke these words to Arjuna in his [deep] despondency. The Blessed Lord said:

2.10 O descendant of Bhārata, to him who was sorrowing between the two armies, Hṛṣīkeśa, mocking as it were, said these words:

AdidevanandaVishishtadvaita

2.10 O King, to him who was thus sorrowing between the two armies, Sri Kṛṣṇa spoke the following words, as if smiling (by way of ridicule).

2.10 To him who was despondent in the midst of the two armies, Kṛṣṇa, as if smiling, O Bhārata, spoke these words.
