Steadfastness in sacrifice (yajña), austerity (tapas), and charity (dāna) is also called "Sat"; And indeed action (karma) for the sake of these, is designated exactly as "Sat".
SAT is steadfastness in sacrifice, in penance, in charity; any action of this order is denoted by SAT.
(27) In sacrifice, in penance, in the gift of alms [the same word] sat is used, meaning 'steadfastness': and works performed with these purposes [in mind], [these] too are surnamed sat.
17.27 And the steadfastness in sacrifice, austerity and charity is spoken of as sat. And even the action meant for these is, verily, called as sat (good).
17.27 Devotion to sacrifice, austerities and gifts is also called Sat; and so any act for such purposes is named Sat.
17.27 Steadfastness in sacrifice, austerity and gift, is also called 'Sat' and also action in connection with these (or for the sake of the Supreme) is called 'Sat'.
