"Tat" (That), without aiming at the fruit, the acts of sacrifice and austerity, And the various acts of charity, are performed by those desiring liberation (mokṣa).
TAT—men who crave freedom utter it as they perform acts of sacrifice, charity, and penance, without concern for reward.
(25) THAT: [so saying] do men who hanker for deliverance perform the various acts of sacrifice, penance, and the gift of alms, having no thought for the fruits [they bring].
17.25 After (uttering) the word tat, acts of sacrifice and austerity as also the various acts of charity are performed without regard for results by persons aspiring for Liberation.
17.25 Acts of sacrifice, of austerity and of various gifts are performed without aiming at reward by those who seek release, after pronouncing Tat.
17.25 Uttering Tat, without aiming at the fruits, are the acts of sacrifice and austerity and the various acts of gifts performed by the seekers of liberation.
