Bound by hundreds of fetters of hope, wholly devoted to desire (kāma) and anger (krodha), They strive for the accumulation of wealth by unjust means, for the sake of the enjoyment of their desires.
Bound by a hundred fetters of hope, obsessed by desire and anger, they hoard wealth in stealthy ways to satisfy their desires.
(12) Bound by hundreds of fetters forged by hope, obsessed by anger and desire, they seek to build up wealth unjustly to satisfy their lusts.
16.12 Bound by hundreds of shackles in the form of hope, giving themselves wholly to passion and anger, they endeavor to amass wealth through foul means for the enjoyment of desirable objects.
