For the Person (puruṣa) seated in nature (prakṛti), experiences the qualities (guṇas) born of nature. Attachment to the qualities is the cause of his births in good and evil wombs (yoni).
Witness, consenter, sustainer, enjoyer—the great lord is called the highest self, man's true spirit in this body.
(21) For 'person' is lodged in material Nature, experiencing the 'constituents' that arise from it; because he attaches himself to these he comes to birth in good and evil wombs.
13.22 Since the soul is seated in Nature, therefore it experiences the qualities born of Nature. Contact with the qualities is the cause of its births in good and evil wombs.
13.22 (a) Indeed, the self seated in Prakṛti experiences the Guṇas born of Prakṛti... (b) ... Its attachment to these Guṇas is the cause of birth in good and evil wombs.
13.22 The soul seated in Nature experiences the qualities born of Nature; attachment to the qualities is the cause of its birth in good and evil wombs.
