Thinking of You as a friend, whatever was forcefully said, "O Krishna, O Yadava, O Friend!" Not knowing this majesty of Yours, by me, out of negligence or even out of affection,
Thinking you a friend, I boldly said, “Welcome, Krishna! Welcome, cousin, friend!” From negligence, or through love, I failed to know your greatness.
(41) How rashly have I called You comrade, for so I thought of You, [how rashly said,] 'Hey Kṛṣṇa, hey Yādava, hey comrade!' Little did I know of this your majesty; distraught was I...or was it that I loved You?
11.41 Without knowing this greatness of Yours, whatever was said by me (to You) rashly, through inadvertence or even out of intimacy, thinking (You to be) a friend, addressing (You) as 'O Kṛṣṇa,' 'O Yādava,' 'O friend,' etc.-.
11.41 Unaware of this majesty of Yours, and either from negligence or love, or considering You to be a friend, whatever I have rudely said as 'O Kṛṣṇa, O Yādava, O Comrade.'
11.41 Whatever I have presumptuously said from carelessness or love, addressing Thee as O Kṛṣṇa! O Yādava! O Friend! regarding Thee merely as a friend, unknowing of this, Thy greatness.
