Then, seeing the sons of Dhritarashtra arrayed, The Monkey-bannered one (Kapidhvaja), As the flight of weapons began, The son of Pandu (Pāṇḍava), having raised his bow,
Arjuna, his war flag a rampant monkey, saw Dhritarashtra's sons assembled as weapons were ready to clash, and he lifted his bow.
(20) Then Panda's son, whoso banner is an ape, scanning [the ranks of] Dhṛtarāṣṭra's men drawn up, took up his bow: the clash of arms was on.
1.20 O king, thereafter, seeing Dhṛtarāṣṭra's men standing in their positions, when all the weapons were ready for action, the son of Pandu (Arjuna) who had the insignia of Hanuman of his chariot-flag, raising up his bow, said the following to Hṛṣīkeśa.
1.20 Then Arjuna, who had Hanuman as his banner crest, on beholding the sons of Dhṛtarāṣṭra in array, took up his bow, while missiles were beginning to fly.
1.20. Then, seeing the people of Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s party standing arrayed and the discharge of weapons about to begin, Arjuna, the son of Pandu, whose ensign was a monkey, took up his bow and said the following to Kṛṣṇa, O Lord of the earth.
