सञ्जय उवाच दृष्ट्वा तु पाण्डवानीकं व्यूढं दुर्योधनस्तदा। आचार्यमुपसङ्गम्य राजा वचनमब्रावीत् ॥1.2॥
1.02 saṃjaya uvāca dṛṣṭvā tu pāṇḍavānīkaṃ vyūḍhaṃ duryodhanas tadā ācāryam upasaṃgamya rājā vacanam abravīt

Sañjaya said: But having seen the army of the sons of Pandu (Pāṇḍavas), Arrayed in battle formation, Duryodhana then, Having approached the teacher (ācārya), The king spoke these words:

Sañjaya said: (2) Then did Duryodhana, the king, seeing the ranks of Pandu's sons drawn up [for battle], approach the teacher, [Droṇa,] with these words:
