Dhṛtarāṣṭra said: On the field of duty (dharma), on the field of the Kurus, Gathered together, desiring to fight, My people and the sons of Pandu (Pāṇḍavas) as well, What did they do, O Victorious one (Sañjaya)?
Sanjaya, tell me what my sons and the sons of Pandu did when they met, wanting to battle on the field of Kuru, on the field of sacred duty?
Dhṛtarāṣṭra said: (1) On the field of justice, the Kuru-field, my men and the sons of Pandu too [stand] massed together ready for the fight. What, Sañjaya, did they do?
1.1. Dhṛtarāṣṭra said -- O Sañjaya, what did my sons (and others) and Pandu's sons (and others) actually do when, eager for battle, they assembled on the sacred field, the Kurukṣetra (Field of the Kurus)?
1.1 Dhṛtarāṣṭra said -- On the holy field of Kurukṣetra, gathered together eager for battle, what did my people and the Pāṇḍavas do, O Sañjaya?
1.1 Dhṛtarāṣṭra said -- What did my people and the sons of Pandu do when they had assembled together eager for battle on the holy plain of Kurukṣetra, O Sañjaya.
