For by that former practice itself, he is carried along even helplessly. Even a desirer of knowing discipline (yoga), passes beyond the Brahman of words (Vedas).
Carried by the force of his previous practice, a man who seeks to learn discipline passes beyond sacred lore that expresses the infinite spirit in words.
(44) By [the force of] that same struggle he had waged in former times he is carried away though helpless [of himself] ; for even he who only wants to know what integration is, transcends that 'Brahman' which is [no more than] wordy riles.
6.44 For, by that very past practice, he is carried forward even in spite of himself! Even a seeker of Yoga transcends the result of the performance of Vedic rituals!
6.44 By the power of his earlier practice, he is carried forward even against his will. Even though he is an enquirer about Yoga, he transcends the Śabda-brahman i.e., Prakṛti or matter.
6.44 By that very former practice he is borne on in spite of himself. Even he who merely wishes to know Yoga goes beyond the Brahmic word.
