Having created beings together with sacrifice (yajña) in the beginning, the Lord of creatures (Prajāpati) said: "By this you shall multiply; let this be the milker of your desires."
When creating living beings and sacrifice, Prajapati, the primordial creator, said: “By sacrifice will you procreate! Let it be your wish-granting cow!
(10) Of old the Lord of Creatures said, emitting creatures and with them sacrifice; 'By this shall ye prolong your lineage, let this be to you the cow that yields the milk of all that ye desire.
3.10 In the days of yore, having created the beings together with the sacrifices, Prajāpati said: 'By this you multiply. Let this be your yielder of coveted objects of desire.'
3.10 In the beginning the Lord of all beings, creating man along with the sacrifice, said: 'By this shall you prosper; this shall be the cow of plenty granting all your wants.'
3.10 The Creator, having in the beginning (of creation) created mankind together with sacrifice, said, "By this shall ye propagate; let this be the milk cow of your desires (the cow which yields all the desired objects)."
