And we do not know which is weightier for us, Whether we should conquer or whether they should conquer us. Even having killed whom we would not desire to live, Those sons of Dhritarashtra (Dhārtarāṣṭrāḥ) are stationed in front.
We don't know which weight is worse to bear— our conquering them or their conquering us. We will not want to live if we kill the sons of Dhritarashtra assembled before us.
(6) Besides we do not know which is for us the better part, whether that we should win the victory or that they should conquer us. There facing us stand Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s sons. Should we kill them, we should hardly wish to live.
2.6 We do not know this as well as to which is the better for us, (and) whether we shall win, or whether they shall conquer us. Those very sons of Dhṛtarāṣṭra, by killing whom we do not wish to live, stand in confrontation.
2.6 We do not know, which of the two is better for us --- whether our vanquishing them, or their vanquishing us. The very sons of Dhṛtarāṣṭra, whom, if we slay, we should not wish to live, even they are standing in array against us.
2.6 I can hardly tell which will be better, that we should conquer them or that they should conquer us. Even the sons of Dhṛtarāṣṭra, after slaying whom we do not wish to live, stand facing us.
