He who is without affection everywhere, Having encountered whatever good or evil, Who neither rejoices nor hates, His wisdom (prajñā) is firmly established.
When he shows no preference in fortune or misfortune and neither exults nor hates, his insight is sure.
(57) Who has no love for anything, who rejoices not at whatever good befalls him nor hates the bad that comes his way—firm-stablished is the wisdom of such a man.
2.57 The wisdom of that person remains established who has not attachment for anything anywhere, who neither welcomes nor rejects anything whatever good or bad when he comes across it.
2.57 He who has no love on any side, who when he finds good or evil, neither rejoices nor hates --- his wisdom is firmly set.
2.57 He who is everywhere without attachment, on meeting with anything good or bad, who neither rejoices nor hates, his wisdom is fixed.
