Of the Vrishnis I am Vasudeva; of the Pandavas, the Winner of wealth (Dhanañjaya). Of the sages (munīnām) I am also Vyasa; of poets, the poet Ushanas.
I am Krishna among my mighty kinsmen; I am Arjuna among the Pandava princes; I am the epic poet Vyasa among sages, the inspired singer among bards.
(37) Among the Vṛṣṇī clansmen I am [Kṛṣṇa,] Vasudeva's son, among Pandu's sons [I am] Arjuna; among silent sages I am Vyāsa, among psalmists I am the psalmist Uśanās.
10.37 Of the vṛṣṇī [The clan to which Sri Kṛṣṇa belonged, known otherwise as the Yādavas.] I am Vasudeva; of the Pāṇḍavas, Dhanañjaya (Arjuna). And of the wise, I am Vyāsa; of the omniscient, the omniscient Uśanās.
