I am the song in sacred lore; I am Indra, king of the gods; I am the mind of the senses, the consciousness of creatures.

(22) Of the Vedas I am the Sama-Veda, I am Indra among the gods; among the senses I am the mind, amongst contingent beings thought.

10.22 Among the Vedas I am Sama-veda; among the gods I am Indra. Among the organs I am the mind, and I am the intelligence in creatures.
