Having killed the sons of Dhritarashtra, What pleasure would there be for us, O Agitator of men (Janārdana)? Sin (pāpa) alone would take hold of us, Having killed these aggressors.
What joy is there for us, Krishna, in killing Dhritarashtra's sons? Evil will haunt us if we kill them, though their bows are drawn to kill.
(36) Should we slaughter Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s sons, Kṛṣṇa, what sweetness then is ours? Evil, and only evil, would come to dwell with us, should we slay them, hate us as they may.
1.36 O Janārdana, what happiness shall we derive by killing the sons of Dhṛtarāṣṭra? Sin alone will accrue to us by killing these felons.
1.36 If we kill the sons of Dhṛtarāṣṭra, what joy will be ours, O Kṛṣṇa? Sin alone will accrue to us if we kill these murderous felons.
1.36. By killing these sons of Dhṛtarāṣṭra, what pleasure can be ours, O Janārdana? Only sin will accrue to us from killing these felons.
